The National Mediation Center Org journey began as a place to practice skill without checking data boxes. With the Founder's Polynesian flair to share, it took a short time to add the idea of allowing others the same. The idea traveled to people with openness, desire, and influence, and NMC appeared. We currently partner with a University for practicing interns and a large business to consumer organization.
We are so pleased to share time with brilliant people like the members here! We feel the uniqueness of these members is they are always learning. Some volunteer, others are in it for the long haul, to impact the World through their work!
Interns - We have dozens, and we appreciate every minute they donate! They come from universities, state associations, and private practice. We require every person donate hours to the NMC to ensure they learn the companies we serve and best practices before flying solo.
Founder - Karleen Andresen. As a founder of the National Mediation Center, Karleen sees conflict resolution, mediation, and crisis negotiations as a kaleidoscope of options. She says, “Resolution is less about power of wills and more about staying in the conversation. Doing so increases revenue, decreases costs, and let’s not overlook the positive environment!” Andresen holds a Masters in Conflict Resolution & Negotiations from Creighton University School of Law. She also went on to focus and certify in hostage & crisis negotiations. Today, she mediates, facilitates, negotiates, keynotes, and is an adjunct professor.
